On Friday, January 22nd, Kevin had to take a day off so we put the boys into the canteen (school lunch) that day and spent the day skiing - just Kevin and I!
We went to Les Tres Valles - the three valleys - specifically, to Val Thorens. It was a perfect day, sunny, warm and no wind.
The first thing we did was ride to the top of the range. This was at about 3200m, looking out across the French alps.
Jealous yet? Well, the entire day was this beautiful! The skiing was fantastic as well. Fresh snow, well groomed trails (since I'm just not the daring skiier I used to be) and tons of trails!

Ice and rocks
This was our view of the snow park area while we ate lunch.
It was just such a great day and fun for both of us to ski without having to constantly look out for the kids. The pefect date day!!
Speaking of the kids, we have taken them quite a bit as well. Here are some skiing pictures from a couple different trips.
Piper and CJ getting ready to go.
Always the character, this one.
That's better :)
Here's a few of Piper in action.
CJ on the 'red' hills - he's finally learned to control his skiing and can manage the bigger hills.
The boys skiing up at the top of Pipay, one of the hills at Les 7 Laux.
A common sight in the van after a good day at the slopes.
The boys have done a terrific job of skiing this year. Our oldest is truly doing great and easily able to keep up with us skiing the bigger hills. CJ has learned enough control (after many many crashes!) to handle the bigger hills as well, but he takes his time and still mostly snow plows down. Levi is able to get down the baby hill on his own and turn a little, but he's still not in good enough control to stop if he gets going too fast.
We have a lot of videos that Kevin has taken while skiing with the boys. I'll try and go through it and compile a few good clips and post them soon!

Hi Kristy,
Loved your photos of Prague and Dresden. We really enjoyed Dreseden a lot. The church was not complete when we went, so was not open for visits. It was neat to see it without scaffolding and the inside as well.
Prague looks like a beautiful place.
I am so glad your Christmas trip was so beautiful.
Skiing is just too much!! I cannot force myself to become dependent on 2 skinny boards, propelling myself down a mountain, but Tim loved his skiing days and the boys all loved the one time we went. Jonathan tried it again in Switzerland last year. I am so glad you are enjoying your surroundings!
We had the Eve of Elegance last night. The trip is to Northern Ireland this year with Quent and Julie heading things up. Stephen is going. It will be interesting, as we discussed it is truly the only modern day country that we have access to that endured trials because of their faith and what that means to a culture and a generation. Stephen is interested in talking to the teens he interacts with to see how it has shaped their lives.
Love,
Vera
So, I can't get over how cute the boys are in their ski helmets and goggles! Glad you guys are having so much fun and that you and Kevin got to have some time for just the two of you.
