Day of R & R

Hard to believe, but I am finally getting back to blogging! It's been a busy couple of months and I also had my computer crash, so it took me a while to get everything switched over to another laptop.

So, back to our Kenya trip at the end of Oct... hard to believe it's been 4 months. I'm just a little behind! After visiting Davis and Alice, we had a day of R&R at our beautiful beach house. We swam, took a walk along the beach (which was mostly coral), and ate fabulous sea food caught by the local fishermen.

Fishermen down in the ocean catching our dinner :)

Lots of fun times in the pool...

We put the ladder down and climbed down to the beach to check out the ocean. There were crabs everywhere by the rocks along the shore...

This is what it looks like during low tide. During high tide, the water is up to the overhang - don't want to get caught down here without the ladder!

Just under the water it was all coral reefs, so we wore our sandals while walking over to the sandy beach.

Getting to the sand...

Kevin and the older 2 boys snorkeled...

while Piper and I chased crabs.

It was a picture perfect day and we enjoyed the down time after being on the road for 5 very busy and long days.

The sunrise the next day, Friday, just before we left to fly back to Nairobi.

Final parting shots of the lovely beach house...

I am going to try and get at least the rest of the Kenya trip up during the boys' winter break over the next two weeks!
