Avignon, Gordes and Murs, France

On Thursday we headed down to the Provence region for a day trip with Arlin. We started in Avignon at the Palais des Papes.
Everyone climb up on Uncle Arlo!

The trees were blooming and very beautiful.

All the boys :)

View of the remains of the Saint Bénézet Bridge over the Rhône River.

There was a fun pond with fish and ducks and a playground with a little climbing area.

Statue on top of the Notre Dame des Doms, the church next to the Papal Palace.

Piper hiding out.

After the tour of the Papal Palace, we headed into Avignon and tried out the double decker carousel! The boys had fun riding it.

um... hope the boys weren't looking up too much. Typical European carousel I guess!

Boys, wait right here.

A final view of the Papal Palace from the Saint Bénézet Bridge.

After Avignon, we headed over to check out Gordes, the cute little French village Beth and I fell in love with.
We spent a little time walking around the town and enjoying the many windy cobblestone streets and views of the fields of Provence below.

After picking up some dinner in Gordes, we headed home and went past another great village named Murs, just north of Gordes. The sun was setting and it was a beautiful photo opportunity!
