Hanging Out with Uncle Arlo

This post will look a lot like what we did when Beth was here just a few weeks ago... but really these are the best of the sights 'round here, so bear with me!

On Monday we took Arlo up the hill behind our house to see one of my favorite little mountain churches and check out the view and hopefully see some paraponters jumping.

Isn't that a cute church with a perfect mountain backdrop?

This guy just landed from a nice run and was getting ready to go again. So we asked him to take Piper up for a little ride.

He dropped him after a little while and Kevin was right there to grab him.

He then sailed away down into the valley.

brothers.

other brothers.

On Tuesday we went down into Grenoble to check out the sites there.

I know I haven't blogged too much about all the demonstrators and chaos happening at the Cat Grenoble plant. Many of you have asked questions and I believe Kevin has sent a mass e-mail detailing much of the whys and hows of it all. While we are still extremely frustrated by all of it, there is nothing we can do at this point but continue to live and try and work through all of it. We do appreciate all your prayers as they continue to negotiate with the demonstrators and try to come to a peaceful agreement.
Despite the stressful work situtation, we are enjoying living here and enjoying all of the beautiful things to see and do. We feel very blessed to be able to live here and know that we are where God wants us at this time.
There are also some side benefits of Kevin being unable to get into work or being sent home early, and so we try to at least make the most of it!

Kevin was sent home from work on Tuesday morning due to the demonstrations about the time we were heading up the Bubble to the Bastille, so we waited for him and had lunch at one of the many pizzarias downtown instead. Then Arlo, CJ and I went up the Bubble and Kev took the other 2 boys home to play. Kevin is not a fan of riding up in a little bubble on a cable high above the water and land :)

CJ loved the ride, he's not afraid of heights.

Checking out the views with Uncle Arlo.
There are also some fun caves up by the Bastille, so we went through those as well.

Going down, down...

After a ride back down the Bubble, we headed home and the boys went for a bike ride.

Piper thinks he's big enough to ride the hitchhiker. He's pretty cute back there :)

On Wednesday, Kevin still couldn't go to work due to the demonstrators, so Arlo and him rode up the mountains behind our house - an 8 mile or so climb up! They rode up to Col de Coq, where there is still a bit of snow.

I rewarded them with a dinner of raclette.

Nothing says good job quite like stinky cheese and grilled veggies over some starchy potatoes! Have to keep the meat on them ;)

The action shot of Piper in the air is GREAT!!! (Good thing Daddy was there to catch him when that guy dropped him!)
