Les Gorges du Bruyant

We took a walk in the woods last Sunday, July 12th, along Les Gorges du Bruyant. We are still working our way through the hiking book we have, so we decided to try a hike in the Vercors Mountains across the valley. It was a lovely day and perfect hiking weather. The trail wound along this river and the boys threw rocks to their hearts' content.

A little aside on Les Gorges du Bruyant: bruyant means noisy or loud, so it would loosely translate as 'the gorges of the noisy/loud one'. I guess Piper found his home. There is finally a place in France where he belongs...because we all know that Piper = bruyant.

Enjoy the pictures!

The hike crossed the creek at several points via these bridges.

water break.. I'm not sure what was so funny...

waterfalls at the end of the trail

A beautiful afternoon enjoying the lovely creation here in the French Alps!

The boys all look like they were in their element. Isn't it a beautiful place that God has chosen for your adventure?
