La Grotte de la Glacière de Corrençon

On Sunday, August 9th, we went on a hike in the Vercors mountains to la Grotte de la Glacière de Corrençon, or the cave of the glacier of Corrençon.

The Vercors have a lot of beautiful mossy rocks:

Hiking up the trail...
taking a break...

my big little Piper :)

We were a little disappointed when we got there...

This explains that the glacier is down in the cave, after a 15 meter or so drop off.

This is the cave entrance that is gated and locked off.

So we didn't get to see the glacier, just the entrance of the cave to the glacier.
It was still a fun day of hiking...

..complete with many beautiful views!

That's disappointing! All that hiking and no glacier - but I guess you did get to do all that hiking - which sounds like a lot of fun :) Miss you guys. Oh, by the way, I noticed somewhere along the the way Piper has lost his curls!...he still looks adorable.
Hugs, Karm
