Ryan and Hannah Visit in April!

Kevin's brother, Ryan, and his wife, Hannah came in April for 10 days! They flew into Geneva on Thursday, April 7th and we toured around the city a bit, had a lunch, then headed back to our house after they were exhausted.
In one of the towers of St. Peter's Cathedral over looking Geneva and the lake.

The following day they slept in to make up for pulling an all-nighter on the plane, then we headed up the Chartreuse mountains for a little hike. Or a rather big one! Kevin wanted to take Ryan up the Dent de Crolles, pictured below:

It's about a 4 hour hike round trip if you don't stop. One of Kevin's former managers at Cat was in town for meetings, so Scott came along for the hike as well.

Ryan and Hannah, looking great for just arriving the previous day!

Here's where you can choose to go up the front side or around the back.

The four Steiners ;)

I ended up having to go back about this time so I could pick up the boys from school and make dinner, but the others took the front side and made it up and back before dark!

The next day, Saturday, was our only real day to spend with Ryan and Hannah. They left the following day to go tour around central and northern France (Paris, Normandy) and also hit Belgium, the Netherlands and I think Strasbourg, France on the way back. Anyways, it was a beautiful day and we found ourselves just enjoying the mountains. We drove up the Chartreuse to watch the paraponters jumping.

There were a lot that day, so it was especially fun.

Note the little boy running through the paraponters w/the kite!

Lots of paraponters in the sky.

Here's one taking off... first you get the parachute enflated...

Then you run off the edge as the wind lifts you up...

and finally as you coast out over the valley below, you slide into the little built in seat and enjoy the ride and the view!

An amazing, beautiful view!

It was a perfectly windy day, so the boys had fun flying CJ's kite.

Waiting for his turn.

Happy boy.

Let's go fly a kite...

Piper didn't really get the hang of flying the kite, but he enjoyed picking me flowers :)

Then Saturday evening, we got a babysitter and hit the town for a dinner out in Grenoble with Ryan and Hannah. First, we went up the bubbles to the Bastille.

The view was great.

We could even see Mount Blanc fairly well as the sun was setting.

We had an amazing dinner, and the next day Ryan and Hannah took off for the rest of their trip. I don't have pictures from the rest of their trip because I forgot to get some from Ryan and when they returned they came in Sat to turn around and fly home early Sunday morning, so we basically caught up on their travels and helped them pack :)

So we didn't get too much time with them, but we were SO thankful for the time we had to show them around our town a bit. Also so very thankful they were able to get away for 10 days and see a bit of Europe! Thanks for coming to visit us, Ryan and Hannah! I'm so glad the boys did great for their grandparents (both sets, they are so blessed for all the help!) and you could come and visit us and enjoy a little slice of Europe.
