Downtime with Grandma and Grandpa

After our trip to the south of France, we had a few downtime days of just hanging out around our area enjoying the mountains and letting Mom and Dad have a few days of rest before our next adventure! Full disclosure - the last half of these pictures are theirs, as are a few others in previous posts and I'm sure some to come! I either wasn't there, forgot my camera or to take pictures, or theirs were better :)

Sunday we took Mom and Dad to our church, the International Church of Grenoble. They had a truly international experience as we were having a bilingual baptism that morning!

Then Monday, we drove up the Chartreuse mountains behind our house to watch the parapenters jump, always fun to watch! We were not disappointed, there were quite a few at our favorite spot.

Also, the wind was great for flying a kite!

Grandpa and Grandma enjoying the view and the boys.

Dad getting a closer look ;) No surprise there... I'm sure if he spoke French he would have made a new friend!

Piper doing his favorite thing, gathering wild flowers (hope those aren't protected!).

Then Monday evening, Kevin and his parents went out to eat at one of our favorite French restaurants in Grenoble, L'Epicurien. I can't remember what all they ate, but I know it was a far cry from Der Dutchman :) I think they were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the evening out.

Tuesday was another down day, we just hung out at home and enjoyed the day. I also spent some time packing and getting ready for our upcoming trip to Switzerland. Mom and Dad had some great boy time with the boys checking out our favorite spots in the National Forest just across our street. This is one of the boys' favorite places to hang out and throw rocks and otherwise be boys :) We affectionately call it 'The Rock Park'.

Love this picture! Good job, Mom! Clones down to the Ventrac tees

Running through the woods to the big climbing rock..

Two boys climbing the rock and one climbing Grandpa ;)

And Piper picking more wildflowers, or maybe just a weed!

Next post, on to our mega-tour of Switzerland... discovering Kevin's ancestors' villages and some Mennonite faith landmarks!
