Is it Friday Yet?

Kevin has been traveling for the past week, he will be home tomorrow. So I'm only a few hours from declaring my survival through my first week in France alone!

While he was basking on the beaches in Dubai and Bahrain* I took the boys skiing this past weekend.
By myself.
Yes, I do need my sanity checked.
Well, I wasn't totally alone, I went with another family from our school who have a boy the same age as E - so I figured it would be a great chance for him to ski with his friends.
We went to St. Bernard du Touvet, which is in the Chartruese mountains just up the road from our house. It was a beautiful sunny and warm day.

They have these conveyor belts that you ride up and then you can sled down the left side or ski down a little green hill on the right. I put Piper in the kid pack and helped CJ ski. Kevin's a champ to pack him everywhere we go, I was really struggling carrying him around for just an hour in the snow!
Thankfully, CJ got tired of skiing pretty quickly when the older kids moved on and went to the bigger hills, so I was more than happy to get Piper off my back and do some sledding with them.

They had the sledding hill groomed, so you could get some good speed!

We always color coordinate everything, especially our sleds...

E had a blast skiing with his friends.
We ate lunch together then the older kids all came over to the conveyor and went sledding for a while.

Our friends' oldest daughter really took to Piper and he loved going with her, so I even got a little break while she had fun sledding with him!

Piper was tuckered out by the end of the day... actually, we all were!
I thought CJ was especially whiny. Turns out he was feeling sick and ended up vomiting when we got home later. Why does it always seem that the boys get sick when Kevin's traveling?!
He was sick on and off the entire week, the low point was Tues evening when I was rushing home from school to get the boys home, fed dinner and off to AWANA and CJ puked all over in the van. Ugh. He's finally doing better today and went to school with no incidents.

I took this while driving home, it was just so beautiful out and I love this little village and church with the mountains behind. Sigh.

Beautiful sunset on the Belledonne mountains, taken from the boys' room last evening.
We are so blessed to live here!

*in case you didn't catch my sarcasm, Kevin works so hard I'm afraid the only sand he saw on his trip to those resort locations was saturated in oil, dripping off the tractors he went to inspect... I was just going for some sympathy...
