On our way, we stopped in Stuttgart to see the old town. When Kevin was here in April with Arlin, they only went to the car museums, go figure!

In front of a door at the Stiftskirche, the large Protestant church in Stuttgart.

Kevin and CJ in front of the church.
We walked over to the Schlossplatz, or castle square and the boys had fun with these fountains.

At first, they just sat on the edge...

then the allurement of the fountain...

Across from the fountains is the Stuttgart Schloss

A few other pictures around the old town...

Thursday evening we arrived at Thomas and Heidi's house and spent the evening catching up with them. Friday started out rainy, so we decided to take the kids to an indoor play area near them.
Thomas and their youngest, ready to descend down the 'volcano'.

Piper loved these things. He could barely reach the 'fire' button, and had no aiming abilities, but he could get the balls put into the hopper on top and push the button to send nerf balls sailing across the play area!

E and CJ loading up in the nerf ball war zone.

Thomas and Heidi's oldest, a super 'football' player. That's soccer for you Americans who don't get out much ;)

slides...

CJ and Piper enjoyed climbing up this area and instead of going down the slide next to it, sliding down the 'steps' which launched them into the air when they hit them!

Thomas and Heidi's middle child and oldest daughter.
It was a really fun day for all the kids.
Maybe a little too fun...
it was hard to leave...

was just too much...

and someone went straight to bed when we got back to our hosts' house :)
More to come on our weekend in Germany...

This was the view just up the road from Thomas and Heidi's home in a small town near Heilbronn, Germany. It's right in the heart of the Württemberg vine-growing region. Beautiful rolling hills covered in vineyards and castles!

I'd cry if I had to leave that place too! If only I could shoot nerf balls at everyone :)
