Ok, since my blog is called Cheese and Whine, and I often whine.... I thought it was time I talked about the cheese! Specifically, I think I found my new favorite cheese while on vacation. Corsican cheese. It is ah-mazing. The owners of our villa told us we had to try it in an omelette. They were right, it is fantastic on eggs, even my boys continue to beg for me to buy Corsican cheese for their eggs. I'm also quite pleased that my boys beg for stinky cheese. Nothing like a whole family of cheese snobs ;) They're in general totally spoiled here in the food department (amongst others), but that's another blog entry entirely.
Secondly, the island of Corsica is pristine and gorgeous. There are little villages set in the mountains that go right up to the beautiful coastlines. Villas dot the coasts and little clumps of French villas can be found in the towns along the sea. What you don't see, however, are huge high rises or big chain resorts. Why? Because the Corsicans don't let it happen. Not just laws, I'm talking that if someone buys land and starts to develop it, the Corsicans take matters into their own hands and blow up (yes, with explosives) the work sites until the developers give up and go home. Seriously. Gotta love the Corsicans. I'm kind of glad to know that they're passionate about keeping their island somewhat undeveloped, it certainly adds to the beauty and uniquely Corsican feel of the island.
I'm not sure why I thought you all needed to hear about the cheese and explosives, but now I think our Corsican experience is completely told. Tour de France photos up next!

I've loved all your vacation pictures! They're awesome! You really got some great photos of the boys and beautiful pictures of the scenery. I do have to laugh though at the fact that the man who lived years off of "Mac'n'yac" now has boys who are cheese snobs - love it!
