Part 1 of the Big Trip

I'm back! I know I haven't blogged in a long time, but we were a little busy ....
We went back to the US on Sat, Oct 17th for 3 weeks. It was a really good trip and we saw a lot of dear friends and family. We enjoyed spending time with many of you and it was great to be able to catch up in person. Our boys spent special time with grandparents, cousins and friends and made some very precious memories.

I am thankful we had the chance to come and visit, but I am glad to be back home here in France and back to a routine and schedule with the boys!

Our first stop was in Ohio. We had a wonderful time being with my Mom.

The kids loved playing games with Grandma.

Many of you have asked how my Mom is doing - thanks for asking, it means a lot.

My Mom is doing really well. She is healthy and able to take care of the house by herself and is content with her life. She has a great church that really supports her and where she feels at home and loved and can have good fellowship. We were so thankful to have the opportunity to spend some time with Mom and she loved seeing her grandchildren.

We were also able to spend some time with Kevin's family. His Mom had a gathering for extended family on her birthday :) Ryan, Kevin's brother, was kind enough to bring her a cake to celebrate her birthday, too.

Happy Birthday, Mom! Thanks for having a big gathering on your birthday for us! We had a great time seeing everyone.

The boys loved playing with their cousins.

Our oldest was excited to hold his newest little cousin, only 8 weeks old here.

so sweet!

I also had a few friends stop by and see me at my Mom's house...

Gia, a dear friend from my fun times at Akron U.

And Karen, a good childhood friend.
We enjoyed seeing the beautiful colors of fall while in Ohio. More of our travels to come...

I keep checking your blog in hopes of finding pictures from your trip - and today I was so happy to find them! Thanks for taking the time to do that - I know sometimes it feels tedious, but it's so neat for us to have a window into your life! K

HP - yes, France is 'home' now! I guess where we settle and make our house a home becomes our 'home'. Ohio hasn't felt like home for ages and this time, even when we saw our house in Tremont, it didn't feel like our home anymore. Strange.
Karm - I'm going to try and keep getting them up, but it's taking a while! Keep checking back :)
